The company is part of the Tufenkian Hospitality Group, whose founder, James Tufenkian, returned to his homeland from the United States more than twenty years ago and established companies in handmade carpet production and hospitality services, dedicating himself to the preservation and revival of culture and traditional crafts in Armenia. Since 2019, the company has initiated its viticulture and winemaking direction by establishing vineyards in the village of Chiva in the Vayots Dzor region, and by building a winery and a hotel complex in the village of Areni.
In viticulture and winemaking, we are guided by the following principles:
Organic and Biodynamic
Our holistic approach, aimed at fostering biodiversity, elevates soil health and that of the vines, enabling us to create wines with profound depth and vitality.
Terroir-focused
We respectfully work with indigenous grapes evolved over millennia to thrive in the distinct terroirs of the Vayots Dzor region of Armenia, and to ferment them using only the yeasts naturally occurring on the grapes in each unique vineyard.
High Elevation
Vineyards at significant altitudes (1250-1500m) yield grapes with intense aromatics, vibrant freshness, and exceptional balance.
Low-yield Vineyards
Our own vineyards are meticulously managed for low yields, ensuring exceptional quality and concentrated flavors in every bottle.
WINEMAKING PHILOSOPHY
We are committed to natural practices, minimal intervention, and the expression of unique terroir. It is only in this way that we can craft distinctively Armenian wines, rooted deeply in its soil and traditions.
